About the Column

Back in the old days, it was actually possible to visit every site on the Internet about Disney. Nowadays, it's not even possible to count all the sites on the Internet about Disney. I visit quite a few of them compiling the Hullabaloo, and often I find gems - digitally buried treasure - maintained by folks who love Disney so much it doesn't matter that the traffic to their sites may be a trickle. In Daily DIZcovery, I'll pick a different dynamite Disney site every day, typically one you've never heard about, and hopefully turn their trickle into a torrent.

Five Minute Magic

What can you do in five minutes that's magical?

What can you do in five minutes?

What can you do that's magical, I mean?

I can think of a few things, but none of them have anything to do with Disney, so it's better I don't bring them up here.

Emily, Melissa, and Scott know how to make magic in five minutes.

Their site, Five Minute Magic, features an occasional podcast - never more than five minutes long - in which they present their take on a Disney topic.

And it's a clever take! They rate their topic on a scale of 1-10, but the rating may go up or down during the podcast based on their discussion.

Their latest topic - as is all the rage these days - is a tribute to Mickey's Toontown Fair.

(In death, Toontown has finally won the attention it lacked in life.)

The Five Minute crew is refreshingly candid about the lack of must-do attractions in Toontown with the exception of Goofy's Barnstormer.

And Scott brings up another good point: Toontown had no nostalgia for most folks because it wasn't there when many of us visited Disney World as children. No crocodile tears from these guys!

When the five minutes is up, Mickey's Toontown Fair stumbles forth with a ... 6. RIP.

Come back tomorrow for another Daily DIZcovery!
