Disney Diva

About the Column

A diva, if you want to get etymological, is a 'goddess, a fine lady'. We're not sure whether our Disney Diva is a goddess but she's certainly a fine lady when it comes to dispensing Disney tips and park lore, especially about her favorite Disney things. But don't let the Diva title fool you: Kristin's advice is always practical, her tips always inventive, even if they do often come a bit of Diva-tude.

Disney Diva's Favorite Things

#9: The Diva gets all Spielberg with a Flip Camera

Moments happen QUICKLY at Walt Disney World.

You're walking down Main Street and suddenly the Barbershop Quartet is working you into a song, or your daughter sits down in Princess Aurora's lap and starts to snuggle.

Sometimes the digital camera can tell the story, but other times what you need is video!

The Flip Camera is a great way to capture unexpected moments on video. It's compact, fits into your pocket with ease, opens quickly, and takes high-quality video. The Flip has its own USB port to enable easy transfer of your videos to a computer.

And it's really inexpensive! I bought mine at Wal-mart for under $100.00.

Once you have the camera, you can download free video-editing software like VideoPad Video Editor and use it to put together a cute video documentary. VideoPad is very intuitive - I had no idea how to edit video but figured it out pretty fast.

You can 'build' your masterpiece not only with video but with photographs and music, too.

For good quality MP3 files of music from Disney rides, parades, and fireworks events that you can add to your video and make it truly one-of-a-kind, visit WDisneyW.co.uk. Download whatever you want: it's free!

[Bob's 2-cents: I checked out that video and the Diva, as always, is right. Amazing quality for such an inexpensive camera. And the Diva's production values are first-rate, too.]
