About the Column

Not an minute passes without someone, somewhere, writing more stuff about Disney. I compile the better stuff in Disney Dispatch's daily (and frequently updated) Hullabaloo. But the really, really good stuff, the stuff that makes me smile when I read it, or scratch my head, or fume angrily that I didn't write it myself, well, that you'll find here, each night, usually with my snarky spin. No glass of milk. No cookie. Just a late night dose of Disney to lull you to slumber...

Good Night, Mouse for April 9, 2011

Bob likes tidy, at least when it comes to websites, and would love to be the best man in the marriage of tidy and minimalist, especially when it comes to Disney sites. Ever the matchmaker, Bob today discovered the world's tidiest, tiniest Disney site.

The Tidiest Disney Site, Ever

Let's snip the snark (but hopefully not jump the shark) tonight with an edition of Good Night, Mouse that serves a practical purpose.

I've found the world's tidiest, and tiniest, Disney website:

http://www.vinylmationworld.com

Take a look at that beauty: it's a narrow strip of text running down the center of the screen, with a menu compressed in a single drop-down (called 'Navigation').

If you click the title of an article, the text loads in the same narrow strip. The strip is so narrow, in fact, that you could probably fit four such strips on the screen, potentially having four separate sites on a single page.

Vinylmation World is updated daily, mostly with Vinylmation news, and if you like what you read, wonderful, but don't try leaving a comment: the comments are always closed.

Missing the snark, aren't you? Come back tomorrow.

But do check out Vinylmation World for a marvelous example of how to condense lots and lots of good content into an astonishingly small space.

Hey, Mickey, are you a minimalist Mouse? Mickey? Ah, too late...

Good night, Mouse!

Come back tomorrow for more Good Night, Mouse!

Interesting. That site is using a Wordpress theme designed for the iPhone as its main template. Probably the webmaster was playing around with a new upgraded installation of Wordpress and didn't enable his default theme.
