About the Column

If you were to watch all the Disney videos on YouTube, you would never finish because they have no end: folks upload new films faster than other people can watch them. Some of the videos are fantastic, a few even freaky. But most are merely ... tolerable. MouseTube Daily is your trusted guide to the fantastic and the freaky. Take an aisle seat each morning for a hand-picked screen gem: perhaps it will be an ode to a special park event, a filmic frolic worthy of Fellini, or a straight-up front-seat POV thrill ride. Please, no talking, and cell phones off.

Guitar Dan serenades a family from New Jersey in the Animal Kingdom

submit to reddit

At the Animal Kingdom, one of the best attractions isn't in a cage or on a safari or even welded down to the ground.

It's Guitar Dan.

For those of you unfamiliar with the name, Guitar Dan is a fellow dressed in safari gear who approaches Animal Kingdom guests, especially kids, and offers to compose a song for them on the spot.

The simple, silly song is memorable because Dan includes the kids' names in his lyrics.

In today's video, Dan works his magic with two kids from New Jersey. It's an easy gig for Dan because one of the kids is named McKenzie and even I can think of a bunch of words that rhyme with McKenzie. Like: 'Hey, McKenzie won the lottery'.

Okay, so I'm not Guitar Dan.

The surreal thing about this video is that other park guests in the shot completely ignore Dan. Some of them pass by so closely that for a moment I thought they'd bowl Dan over.

You'd think they see guys with guitars singing in public all the time.

Take two minutes from your life and check out Guitar Dan.

Truly fantastic stuff. Another "hidden" gem of Disney!
